We planted a batch of sunflowers in our backyard this year. This was a momentous occasion for us– we’ve wanted sunflowers in our life ever since we got married. But alas– our garden-fu was weak.

Not that it’s especially strong now. But we have sunflowers, which is an indication of the basic inherent goodness of the universe.

My favorite is the last one. I like how it’s closed up tight, like a child playing peek-a-boo. And I love the delicate, frosty hairs on the greenery.
